Bug 1577

James Crook
http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1577

Thanks to people, Peter, Gale, Steve, reporting/testing Bug 1577.

My changes will also affect firstinit.ini (which I believe is windows only).

IF windows version of Audacity itself previously used to create paths
with 'Audacity' in them, these will now when created by Audacity have
'audacity' in them instead.  I regard that change as cosmetic, since
paths created by installer will, obviously, be unchanged, and Windows
file system is not case sensitive for retrieval.

Which paths did you have in mind?

For me, after deleting the Audacity temp folder and configuration directory,
these are created:

C:\Users\Gale\AppData\Local\Audacity\SessionData
C:\Users\Gale\AppData\Roaming\audacity

However if there is already C:\Users\Gale\AppData\Roaming\Audacity
then that folder does not get renamed to lower case "audacity".

The paths returned by GetUserDataDir()
and GetDataDir()  (for Html Help on windows and linux, but not Mac)
and GetResourcesDir() (For FirstTime.ini, EQDefaultCurves.xml )

GetUserDataDir():
Unix: ~/.appname
Windows:  C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\appname
              or: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\appname
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/appname

in the following 'prefix' is typically /usr, /opt or /usr/local

GetDataDir()
Unix: prefix/share/appname
Windows: the directory where the executable file is located
Mac: appname.app/Contents/SharedSupport bundle subdirectory

GetResourcesDir():
Unix: prefix/share/appname
Windows: the directory where the executable file is located
Mac: appname.app/Contents/Resources bundle subdirectory

That sounds OK.  I would not expect the folder to get renamed, and on
Windows there is no problem either way, as the directories are case
insensitive.
