Many new features in 2.2.0

James Crook
Just a note that 2.2.0 is shaping up to be an impressive release with a
lot of visible additions/improvements.

http://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/New_features_in_this_release

and those visible changes are in addition to major important changes
under the hood by Paul to refactor the TrackPanel.  There is so much
new, that we have made two pages with the 'overflow' on

http://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/New_features_in_this_release_-_appendix

It sounds as if we also have good chances of getting
EXPERIMENTAL_MIDI_OUT in too, which would be very cool indeed. Gonna be
a good release.

And don't forget exception safety, of which, plugging up the memory leaks was only a piece.

I need to remind myself how much user visible stuff there is, though little of it is mine.

And once again I have to ask you, Paul,  does thsi make Bug #437
http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437
markable as Devel - Fix Made and ready for formal testing?

Cheers,
Peter.

Yes.
And it is that kind of code clean up that lays the foundations for
future work.  When the code is cleanly/clearly organised and when errors
are reported where they happen it is much easier to work with the code.

Can someone explain how to Cut, Copy and Paste in Time tracks?

On my machines this is blocked by the "explanation" that you have
to select audio (if there is also an audio track in the project).

If there is only a Time Track, the Edit commands are greyed out.

But you can't even select in a Time track, well I can't, so how could you expect
to Cut, Copy and Paste (Or Delete for that matter).  :-//

Good point Paul - I've added a very rough draft placeholder entry with a working title:
There is a custom TOC entry at the top of the page too.

Okay, another thing where gmail reordered threads and I hadn't seen this. Excellent, and complimentary to the .aup and buffer overrun code I wrote back in 2015.
