I've given rc3 a good run-through on my typical workflow,
including Timer Record, and that all worked fine.

Also did some stress tests exercising the effects and
analyzers - all fine (including the Sliding Time Scale /
Pitch Shift).

Also tried a couple of Steve's new experimental Nyquist
effects for ProFade out and Cross fade - both worked fine.

Environment:  Tosh laptop 64-bit  6 GB RAM 2.5 gHz i5
processor, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

My packaging tests on Ubuntu revealed no issues.

What about the patch for bug #483 [1] in comment #31? The bug is only
classified as P4, but the attached patch is tested in the Debian/Ubuntu
package and has a low regression risk.

It wasn't clear to me whether Gale's objections in earlier comments
are now resolved.

Anyway, I hope we will not need another RC, and bug 483 is definitely
not sufficient reason to do one, in itself.

All objections should be resolved with the latest version of the patch.

In case of no new RC, please consider this patch after the release of
2.0.2.

My concerns have been that there was initial confusion what the patch
was supposed to do, and then I wondered if the patch went far enough
compared to all the associations that VLC lets you add for its supported
formats.

The issue is P4, so I have not prioritised testing Benjamin's latest
iteration. He says

"With this updated patch all file formats that are listed in the export
dialog have a corresponding mime type entry (except MP2, which has
 video/mpeg as mime type)."

I am not sure if that means that you can only add MP2 as an Audacity
association if you build Audacity with FFmpeg support; however if so it
is apparently an Ubuntu mime type quirk rather than an Audacity
problem and it looks now that the patch is full featured.

Benjamin has tested it, so if we are having an rc4, we could commit the
latest patch and I'll test it in rc4. If we are releasing 2.0.2 then I'll test
the patch as soon after 2.0.2 as I can.

The latest version of the patch adds video/mpeg to the supported mime
types if you build Audacity with FFmpeg support.

Hi.

Please run ./autogen.sh to update the configure script (and commit the
updated configure file). Otherwise the changes to configure.in will not
take effect.

I have already built HEAD, but I've run ./autogen.sh and it has
modified the "configure" file in root of my source tree.

Do you want me to attach the new configure file, or a diff, so
you can see what difference ./autogen.sh made?

Thanks, but it would be Greek to me. Please just commit it, and then
Benjamin can check that it's correct.

The diff of configure begins with:

-# Generated by GNU Autoconf 2.61.
+# Generated by GNU Autoconf 2.68.

Autoconf 2.68 produces a different result than Autoconf 2.61. It makes
no sense to review that change manually.

I tested revision 11939 (that includes the updated configure file) and
it works as expected.

Thanks.
