Where are functional MDA-LV2 plug-ins for Mac? (I can't investiage all of Bug 1608)

Paul Licameli
This bug report, in steps to reproduce:

http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1608

gives this link for those plug-ins, but I can no longer follow it:

I have a fix for the crash in step 3, which does not depend on those particular plug-ins and should be separated from the rest of the bug report.

Step 4 claims that these MDA plug-ins can be used directly, at least on Linux, but cause crashes when part of a chain on Mac.

I searched the web and followed this:  https://brewinstall.org/Install-mda-lv2-on-Mac-with-Brew/

I copy the folder to the correct place, and the Add/Remove Plug-Ins... command finds the effects.  I can enable them.

But then applying any one of those effects to sound gives not a crash but an error dialog, "Couldn't instantiate effect".  Making it part of a chain, and applying that chain, just does nothing, no crash, no error dialog, nothing undoable.

I even found source code for the same effects, but my own builds do the same.

So, I can fix the crash I know about, but I wonder about the P2-ness of the remaining part when there is no path to functional binaries.

I add that this failure to reproduce the step 4 crash is common to the 2.1.3 release and the latest master.

This "homerow" site is Leland's - and his server is off-air for a while as he told us.
